Types of solar pool heaters

There are different types of solar pool heaters depending on your needs and the type of installation:

Solar panels for pools

These are the most efficient and long-lasting system. Solar panels for pools are installed on the roof or on a south-facing structure and connect to the pool filtration circuit, heating the water as it passes through.

Solar spirals and coils

Solar spirals are black polyethylene coils placed outdoors that harness direct solar radiation. They are cheaper and easier to install than panels, although slightly less efficient.

Thermal covers and blankets

Although they do not actively heat the water, thermal covers retain the heat accumulated during the day and prevent temperature loss through evaporation overnight. They are a very effective complement to any solar heating system.

How many solar panels do I need for my pool?
